Daniele Tonarelli Violin

Cremona, 2013

My first trip ever to Cremona was in 2013 and I was ecstatic. I had admired contemporary Cremonese violins from afar (online) for years – and now that I could finally visit this legendary town, I made sure to visit some makers. Unfortunately it was a bit of last minute plan, a short weekend detour from work travels, and many makers were either not available or had no violins ready.

Thankfully, Daniele had just completed a Guadagnini model. And it was just what I was looking for: beautiful sonority, clean lines, and a nicely antiqued one piece back. It was the best sounding violin of all that I tried that day – and I had to have it.
